Ministry Contact:
Prison Ministry is often an untapped mission field. Working in cooperation with various prison ministries, volunteers minister not only to the men, women, and juveniles in prison, but also to their families, the prison staff, and those who have recently been released.
Some of the current Ministry Focus areas are as follows:
Receive inmate letters requesting Bibles and/or Christian literature. These requests are answered after Tuesday bible study by the ministry volunteers. The majority of material mailed to the inmates is provided by donations from the congregation. When material is required, a note is placed in the bulletin.
In addition to Bibles, inmates are invited to participate in a new believer correspondence course. The course is comprised of 14 different Bible studies covering various foundational biblical topics. They are geared towards explaining the basics of biblical doctrine.
The reader completes the study and mails it to the Correspondence ministry. Upon receipt, the next lesson to the reader. Upon completion of the course we will mail a certificate to the reader. All studies are reviewed, and comments when appropriate are attached. The correspondence course has become a main focus of the ministry.
Inmate prayer requests are also received and distributed to various church prayer groups
Bulk Mail to Prison Chaplains – upon request from prison chaplains, we will mail boxes of Bibles, Christian literature, audio and visual material for distribution
