I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me
– Matthew 25:36
Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them
– Hebrews 13:3
What We Do:
While inmates are incarcerated we visit them and their families, hold Bible studies in their correctional facilities, and supply them with Bibles and Christian Literature. We also offer a Bible Study Correspondence Course that covers biblical basics and principles.
When inmates are released, those that become part of our congregation are encouraged and assisted through our Mentoring Program.
Upon request from a chaplain, we distribute boxes of Bibles, Christian literature, and audio/visual material.
Where We Serve:
We concentrate on the local prison systems of Philadelphia, Montgomery and Bucks counties. On occasion, we have ventured out into the PA State Correctional Institutions such as Graterford, Waymart (Poconos) and Camp Hill (Harrisburg).
How to Get Involved:
– The majority of materials are donated from the CCPhilly Congregation. A few times a year, a note will be placed in the bulletin when materials are required.
– Donations for the Prison Ministry can be turned into the church office.
– Contact Al Garcia to get involved in the Mentoring Program or Correspondence Course.
